A Fresh Beginning

Hello and welcome to my first ever blogging page. I just recently finished college (WOO!!) with a bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Two weeks after graduation, I was boarding an Alaska Airlines flight and was headed up to my first job. I was tickled pink. My final destination was set for a small village called Kobuk. Kobuk is located in northwest Alaska just within the Arctic Circle. Thus, my adventure was beginning. Before this trip, I had never been outside of the continental United States. This blog is created to shed some light on the wonderful experiences you get from traveling outside of your comfort zone.

I am Ben Carpenter. I grew up in a decent sized town in Kansas. I spent my time as an undergraduate at Baker University and I am now a teacher in Northwest Alaska (As of February 2018).
