As many of you know, I have taken my teaching career overseas. This summer, I received my TEFL Certification through International TEFL Academy. TEFL stand for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. My TEFL Certification has allowed me to pack up my things once more and move to South Korea, this time as an English teacher. Currently, I am in my second week in Daegu, South Korea. It has been very nice so far and the food is amazing! The people in South Korea have absolutely mastered cooking chicken. Even the gas station fried chicken beats out the standard KFC chicken from back home. I currently live and work inside an English Village. The village houses roughly 60 teachers from English speaking countries. Many teachers hail from countries such as the United Kingdom, South Africa and Canada. Everyone has been very welcoming thus far and has even treated me to Korean Barbecue and a night on the town in Daegu. The local drink is called Soju. The taste is similar to vodka but it didn't have the bite at the end that vodka does. Also, there is less alcohol content and is very cheap to purchase in Korea just about anywhere. Towards the end of the night, the teachers took me to a Noraebang which is similar to karaoke but instead of performing for the entire bar you are placed in a room with your friends. In my opinion, it is much more enjoyable than the karaoke nights that I am accustomed to. As for the teaching itself, DGEV (Deagu Gyeongbuk English Village) is unique as most classrooms are not the standard room with desks that we are accustomed to. Most classrooms are some sort of situational environment. Some examples of a situational room include a bank, hotel, grocery store, and many more. The perk behind this kind of set up is that students can have a hands-on experience and can easily relate the English they are learning with the environment that they are placed in.
P.S. If you are interested in acquiring your own TEFL Certification, please contact me and I can give you more information regarding the course and the difficulty level.

So glad to hear you are enjoying the food lol thanks for sharing. Keep us updated . So proud of you and congratulation on the certificate.
